Missouri Meerschaum?

Has anyone smoked a Missouri Meerschaum cob pipe. They're quite nice-looking for a cob pipe and are very inexpensive - $7.00 at my local tobacco store. I've heard they smoke quite nicely and am thinking of picking up one or two this week to give…Continue

Preferred Pipe Styles?

Ok. I'll jump on this. What are people's preferred pipe styles to smoke? I love my churchwardens for events where I'm outdoors the whole time but I find that my daily smoker tends to be a brandy style pipe. There are so many styles of pipe and I…Continue

Though I truly am impressed with all their other products, I believe Castille Armory may have stumbled onto a very interesting method for pistol dueling within the steampunk/victoriana communities.Sure it would sting like the dickens, but there's no clean-up, no black-powder/wax-bullets, nor should there be any of the 'no real/real looking firearms bullocks to deal with at events. A fencing mask and gorget should be all that is needed in the way of protection. The bonus is they can be made to be beautiful without losing the overall functionality.

Just finished a nice little smoke named Chillin' Moose from Foundry Cigars. These folks have the ticket for making a fine smoke for less, just like some of the best once were. On top of that, they may be looking to capitalise on the steampunk movement with their 'mad scientist' lines. Here's the link for their newest offerings and another for their 'steamier' lines.

Pipe's and cigar's seem to be the smokes of most of our members, though occasionally I hear of the hookah and even the e-vapes. For the most part, none of those really need any stretch of the imagination to picture them as just another part of the scenery. Not so the modern cigarette though. Obviously evil, though surely on their way out, still a properly prepared presentation can be achieved through the efforts of various prop makers and the magic of digital archiving.

The New York Public Library has added a number of menus from different hotels and railroads. The PARailRoad listing cigars and cigarettes in their menu is evocative of the times.

Are there any words appropriate to describe the feelings run rampant upon sighting this bevy of loveliness?

Retronaut, with their fantastic collection of images from yesteryear all mashed together on one site, has reopened a decades-old controversy concerning supposed early attempts at deep-sea exploration with man-made diving-suits or are they in fact remnants of an ages-old war between our Earth-bound fellows and aggressive interplanetary expeditionary forces from Mars, hidden away from prying eyes by that secret gov't organisation know only as the Men In Black. You decide.
