For those of you who don't know, a penny university was a tea house/cafe in the 19th century, where professors and students alike would gather to hear each other's lectures on various topics. You could stay as long as you ordered a drink for a penny. This is actually how  conduct in the 19th century was truly shaped. The lower classes learned that they could get a fair education for one penny and because of that, the upper classes who went to these penny cafes created a strict code of conduct that only those of higher birth would be aware of. But pretty soon, the lower classes who came in began to catch on, and, with practice, would pick up on the different patterns of politeness. They would then show off and demonstrate to the rest of the world that they were drinking tea and getting a penny education with the upper class folk, by using these strict codes outside the cafes, until their friends and family picked it up as well. 

   Here is a place where you may share knowledge and fun facts about ANY topic of your choice. This is a penny cafe without the tea or coffee. But if you would like, before you begin typing out what you learned on the way home from work or at university or whatever, you might add what flavor of tea might go well with your discussion.
