New to the Steampunk world, but it has always interested me. I've been a Civil War reenactor on and off for 15 years, but am taking some much needed time off as it became less of a hobby, and more like a job. It was only natural that with my love of the Victorian Era and Science Fiction that I morph my Civ War life, into my Steampunk life. Plus I already had 90% of the gear!
About my persona: Sgt. J. Deacon Monroe- Born in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, Deacon learned his way around many type of firearms at an early age, and answered the call to arms as soon as the war of succession had broke. Due to his highly developed aim he had soon found himself as a very successful sharpshooter on the field. Although he made it unscathed through hundreds of skirmishes and battles, his luck eventually ran out in the waning years of the war and Deacon was captured by the enemy and sent to the horrid prison camps in the North. He thought for sure this was the end, but was chosen by the famous alchemist Colonel Wilhelm Heizeltroff to be used for his unorthodox experiments. He was spared from the most extreme or highly dangerous experiments, but did undergo multiple experiments to his right eye and hand, taking his sharpshooting skill to a super-human level. He still harbors hatred for the enemy, yet the unlikely brotherhood he has developed with the Colonel has superseded any ambition for vengeance. Instead you will find Deacon enjoying the finer things, while never letting his skills or gun rust. Recently, he has taken up the job as a bounty hunter, aboard his small airship, The Fulcrum. His cat, Cricket, keeps him company, and he never lets his childhood skill at the clarinet go to waste.
