This Poem is for Anyone Who has Ever Stepped on a Leggo

Leggo Piece, oh Leggo piece

How your sharp, plastic edges dig into my flesh

worse than being burned by hot oil popping from a pan

when some jerk leaves you waiting

like a ninja in the tangles of the carpet

to ambush my unarmed, defenseless foot

the incoherent mash of vowels that form vehement interjections

Do these painful cries delight you,

my sadistic building toy?

Are you proud to know that you have such great impact despite your tiny size and easily forgettable presence

among your equally evil peers?

Or are you just longing to be noticed,

Like the shy little boy in the corner of the sandbox

yearning to prove that you have some form of power

because all you can do all day is be put in your place by a stranger's hands

Are you hurting just as much as my foot?

Please

Little Leggo piece,

channel your anger elsewhere
