Day four : ...My crew are growing even more restless and the disease seems to be spreading, four more seem to have taken ill and my medic can find no cause. No sign of strange insect bite, no contaminated food stores, is it the very place itself we are in now ? The air in this part of the jungle seems heavier somehow and it dosen't help that the crazy...(yes I am now confident he is crazy) professor just keeps mumbling to himself about some ancient something or other. I have polled the officers and by a narrow margin the vote is to stay the course and collect the remainder of the gold on completion but, the mounting casualities and strange weather have me concerned.
At around miday we saw a massive cloud bank in front of us ,that just seems to have appeared , the ill crew made a mad dash from their bunks to the outer decks and before they could be stopped, two just jumped over the railings. I have no idea why and the good professor kept chanting and mearly said it was " A facinating display of loyalty".....Loyalty? to who, not to me I would never ask any man to just jump over...What have I gotten myself into this time?
I had returned to my cabin and about an hour or so passed without inncident then suddenly, without warning the collision bell sounds..and the voice of my panic stricken pilot comes out of every comm. tube " ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMPACT!!!"
Impact! ? at this height , there were no mountains in view earlier before this soup of cloud set in??? The ship lurched hard to starboard and I felt the deck momentarily come out from my feet as the pilot preformed the emergency dive to attempt to dodge what ever is out there.I staggered to my cabin door and attempted to make for the bridge.
