First.  Poe. living and writing in the 1800's, is a shoe in. so, let me touch on the people, Of the 1800's.   The Victorian period was riff with, hucksters selling bogus information to the Disparate, wife or husband seeking closer to an Untimely death.

Phantasmagoria. was a popular word of the age as well as,Mysticism and the practice of Seance's. Seance's were regular household activity's.

Poe. (is) may be the,Father of horror as we know it.
