Gender Identity in Roleplay

Greetings all! I'm appearing before you today to help 'boost the signal' from a recent trio of friends, Greg, Leo and Bunny, on the Book of Faces concerning an idea for a 'more friendly' experience between our gender-specific and transgender populace.

From Greg, Leo and Bunny;

Hey everyone, I have a problem.

That problem is gender awareness and recognition in our community.

For the last 8 months, I've watched my partner come home from…

My Time With a Hat

The Awesome Giant Bear got his start in crime-fighting as a P.I. in Tampa, ursine memory not being more than an extension our sense of smell, I'll say maybe four or five years ago and a pleasant time I've had. Little old ladies that smell of lavender and cinnamon buns showing up with requests to find their little troublemakers, small persons with sticky hands asking why the ice cream truck hasn't shown up two weeks into the school year . . . Life was full of candied lemons and sunshine.…

Halkett Boat-Cloak

In perusing the archives, current and past, of myriad groups I frequent on this intertoob contraption, I spotted this gem.

The Incident At Gora Behera

After spending far too long at DuLac's hunting lodge and putting on far more weight than is considered 'healthy' for a retired soldier, I finally donned my best travelling gear and headed south through the valleys winding their way over and under the foothills of the Pyrenees. I accepted the advice of the local hostelry owners and farmers and avoided the winding paths through what they humorously termed 'bandit country'. A fellow traveller of the Colonial Geographic Society, Lord…

On the Moons of Morocco Prime

An unusually chilly mist hangs over the port city of Minas Barrbossa. I say unusually chilly because most mornings it has already become hot and sticky by the third hour of the watch. Still, most don't take notice of the cooler temps and precede about their daily routines of fishmongery and the hawking of their exotic wares. We have a saying around Minas Barrbossa...can't bring it to mind just now though. I've been having this issue since my run-in with 'Kippers and Bosch' last month.…

White leather shoes, fashion or uniform?

I have watched The Knick, a new victorian era piece about the Knickerbocker Hospital in NYC and the interactions between the doctors, nurses, management and even the ambulance drivers. Feels kind of like House only victorian. The question I've got is the main character, Doctor Thackery and the doc he replaces are wearing white shoes. Is it fashion or uniform? I await any answers...

Short Story RPS

Short Story RPS have a more dynamic ebb and flow than say, blog posts or longer storylines. The main reason for this is the rule set. They can be changed to suit the participants tastes, although they work rather well as is. Consider them more like sessions than campaigns.

"Ronin's Rules"

1) Only a single paragraph maximum may be added by any one character. Less is okay, even down to a single sentence, but not more than a normal sized paragraph. This…

And we're back...Death's Keeper.

You'd think the further south you travel the hotter it'd get, but such was not the case. Going from Ole' Briton's shores to the Afrikkas then to the Suez can't be good for one's constitution. Weeded out the blighters and the posers though.

Once across the canal, we airlifted all the gear across the mountains and into the Arab strongholds. The artillery tubes had gotten some banging about due to the Leftenant's haste in arrival. Sour stomache or some such weakness. I'll give…

A serious matter concerning common sense and manners or the lack thereof...

I just caught Mr. Willeford's posting in the PA Steampunk group page on FB and thought it would be in the lines of a quick reminder of just how quickly the politically correct kneejerk can become a serious problem in and of itself.

Day 35: Jeff Mach’s Giant Robot- The last update

Or,

“Why I will NOT be attending the Steampunk World’s Fair or any other Jeff Mach events.

If you went to work and found this sign on the door, would you just walk in and accept…

More from Death's Keeper...

Oh...someone is listening to the droning of my voice...nice. I'm Sgt. Ian MacBrooke by the way. The bulk of the pertinent info you've already seen, at least from my stand point and should you continue to hang about and listen to an old codger throw his opinions and tales about, you'll see the rest.

My time being well spent in Afrikka, I occasionally had the R&R a natural hunter needs to unwind. The natives and their objections not withstanding, I bagged quite a few of the…

Death's Keeper, Sgt. Mac...

I suppose I could always start at the beginning, but nearly recent history is more palatable to the masses. Besides, a rather mediocre childhood and education all aside, life becomes more interesting after we start making our own choices. My first truly self-made decision to join the military and make something of myself started off much like anyone else's. I arrived at the Army recruiter's office, signed my 'Hancock' to paper, kissed the Queen's picture and took the shilling. I was…

Old and new?

So I'm watching this 12 part serial The Fighting Devil Dogs, none of my regular programs are back yet, and somewhere near part 7 or 8, I notice something strangely familiar.

Early sith lord manifestations...

...or a…
