I kind of have my mind on robots because I added 3 more pictures of metal robot pieces to one of the albums.
So...

“The Three Laws of Robotics:
1: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm;
2: A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law;
3: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law;
The Zeroth Law: A robot may not harm humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.”…

Most people use this space to write cool individual stories, which I intend to attempt sometime (hopefully) in the near future. However I wanted to take this particular blog post to discuss the definition of steampunk. Have you ever noticed that in the about section of a steampunk site, or on Wikipedia, or... well fuck everywhere, that every time you read it it seems strangely hollow and superficial?
Even if I can convey what steampunk is to someone I catch myself describing it ways…

Captains Personal Log..... Ok,new rule for the rule book, NEVER agree to work for an academic even remotely connected to Miskatonic University. Addendum to the new rule, ESPECIALLY if they have connections to a russian crime family...
Oh... where to start this story, I guess it did start being a bit too curious (see right there I should have known better! ) We were in port in Brazil, some english speaking fellow with a strange accent twinge comes up and…

The dull roar of the air-crafts could be heard from below, only being muffled by the sound of a random explosion in the distance. I could see the hot, orange glow of the mushrooms that the explosions made. The screams of the men hit by those bombs were cut off short, and their voices never to be heard again except in my head. God, I wish I didn't hear those screams. They haunt my nightmares and plague my mind in the silence. I think on them now and I shudder. Oh, how I miss that…

I stared at the doorway as Charlotte left. To have actually hear her say those words. She may not blame me, but she was still disappointed. I couldn’t blame her. I was disappointed in myself too. I balled my right hand into a fist again and assailed my forehead with it. Artie sat there and watched me with a frown on his face.
I shook my head. I can't think like this right now. My main concern is to find my daughter now and that’s all that matters. To do that…

“What the bloody hell is going on in here?” I yelled, storming into the galley where a giant cloud of pirates stood cheering. I lifted my gun and everyone ducked at the sound of the gunfire. “Everyone!” I shouted, “Move!” there was a dense silence as they obeyed the order like robots and a path was cleared for me to enter into the middle of the cloud where there was a small clearing. At the middle, Ezra was straddling Daniel with a raised fist as Daniel laid there, puffy red and bleeding.…

"The Hornet..." My mouth was agape and I was dumbfounded. This ship wasn't even supposed to be in this area. Why the bloody hell was my...my...my ex-wife here?! "Why the hell are we on the Hornet, Artie?! Do you know what hell you just put me in?!" I cringed in pain from the motion I had made while yelling. Bloody arm. It was going to be a great burden for a while.
"Well Cain, there weren't any other ships in the area. I'm just as surprised as you to see this…

Sherri. My poor girl. I can’t fathom to think what those bloody bastards are doing to her. I have to find her, no matter the cost. If only I could do more for her, but I don’t even know where to look. The damn blast obscured my vision from seeing the symbol on the hull of their ship. I don’t even know how long I’ve been in here.
The door at end of the room opens, and a man walks in. "Cain? Is everything alright?" It’s my ship’s mechanic, the plump bastard. He…

Four damn hours.
Four damn hours it took to get upstairs.
Four hours of tottering around in a stupid frilly uniform, pretending to be a vapid little girl whilst serving hot hors d’oeurves to drunken business men and their snobbish wives. Oh, Josephine hated the wives even more than the men. She hated their eyes, the way the dance of their pupils as they flickered back and forth between their husbands and Josephine, and the way their blackened lashes bowed as they narrowed…

My name is Julien McBain, and I approved this message.
For the last two years I have watched as pillars of Steampunk have torn themselves apart over petty squabbling and foolishness. Artists watch their work being stolen, or steal others' work in order to make a name for themselves; and overall the reaction to it disgusts me.
There can be no community when nobody gets along; this kind of chaos tears at the fabric of what we in the fandom have all been striving to achieve. While…

Not exactly sure what to do here, but I saw that this was a social networking site for Steampunk, and I had to jump in.
So... hello!
